Automatic Individual Urinal Flush Controls (up to 80% water savings)
EARN EXTRA BREEAM POINTS BY FITTING THESE TO ALL URINAL BOWLS.
| • |
Each urinal bowl has it's own sensor and solenoid valve, so that only the urinal bowl that gets used gets flushed. Flush occurs immediately after use. |
| • |
No cisterns required - water supply can come directly from the mains if you use DC Pipe Interupters. |
| • |
No mechanical handles or linkages to break - helps reduce maintenance costs. |

Operation and Benefits

 |
|
Application: each individual urinal bowl
The sensor is recessed into the wall at about chest height directly above each urinal bowl and activates a solenoid valve to flush the urinal bowl. Flushing will only occur after the person has finished and walked out of sensor range. Adjustable valve open periods for each flush are available to suit site requirements.
| • |
Only the urinal bowl actually used gets flushed. |
| • |
Increased hygiene. |
| • |
Large Water Savings (up to 90%). |
| • |
Hygiene flush when urinals not in use. |
| • |
Walking past a sensor will not accidentally flush urinal as a person must be in front of the sensor for a minimum of 10 seconds before a flush can be activated. |
| • |
No cisterns required if you use DC pipe interrupters. Please call to discuss this if required. |

PIR Water Saving Controls
 |
|
Traditional Problem:
Uncontrolled banks of urinals are continually wasting water by flushing all day and all night 365 days per year... even when the building is empty! A single 9 litre cistern flushing (at a typical rate of 4 times per hour) will consume 315,000 litres of water per year – most of which is totally wasted at a cost of about £475 per year, based on national average water & sewerage charge of £1.52 perm³ (1998/99 source OF WAT).
The Solution (and water savings of up to 80%):
A Passive Infra Red (PIR) sensor fitted near the urinals is wired to a solenoid valve which in turn controls the water flow to the cistern feeding the urinals. Flushing only occurs after the urinals have been used (and you can regulate the maximum number of times per hour the urinals will flush when the gents are busy). This creates huge water savings by ensuring water is not wasted during quiet periods, nights, weekends etc. If your water supply is metered then any water savings equate to financial savings. Meets Byelaws 82 & 83. |
Automatic "Hygiene Flush":
Once every 12 hours when the urinals are not in use for long periods to help prevent taps drying out etc.
No cisterns required: If you use DC pipe interrupters. Please call to discuss this if required.
